With the Soil is our Soul collection, LOUIS XIII honors its birthplace: the chalky terroir of Grande Champagne, Cognac’s first cru. This terroir imparts unmatched complexity and aging grace to our eaux-de-vie. In each porcelain piece, artisans remove the glaze from the outer surface by hand, revealing a tactile, textured finish—an echo of chalk beneath the skin. Three hoops on the back pay tribute to the chestnut wood hoops of the tierçons that cradle LOUIS XIII as it matures. 40 master artisans contribute to the collection, each piece taking up to a month to perfect.
